Tsarskoe Selo: Aleksandrovskii Dvorets
« on: January 09, 2006, 07:13:22 PM »
Has anyone read this book, Tsarskoe Selo: Aleksandrovskii Dvorets? It's 34 pages, with approx. 60 photos, and Russian text. I'm considering buying it, but I'm mostly interested in Nicholas & Alexandra's rooms, and I'd like to know how much coverage that wing of the palace gets before I dish out the cash...

Oh, and I already have the exhibition catalog from At Home with the Last Tsar, which contains a fair number of AP interior watercolors.

Sarushka this is the newest souvenir book from the AP, which as of last summer was not translated into English yet, but was supposed to be soon. I picked it up when I was there last summer. It is really more of a brochure than a book, but on the whole not bad.

I also have a copy of this book that was kindly given to me as a gift.

It is a nice general souvenir booklet which is part of an extensive series.

I did end up buying this  book. You're right, it is a nice, albiet smallish booklet. However, I've now cquired a copy of Tsarskoye Selo: The Imperial Summer Residence, by the same author, which renders Aleksandrovskii Dvorets completely redundant.
