What about Rasputin trying to kill the family? That never happened! They never mentioned the real revolution, it all got blamed on Rasputin and his 'minions'

If you want real blunders, there are 2 or 3 off brand Anastasia cartoons that would be laughable if not so bad. I actually bought one for comedic value but it was so bad I couldn't laugh. There is a thread on them here called "bad Anastasia cartoons" Here's the link:

No, dear, use your brain, the movie portrayed the revolutionaries having nothing to do with Rasputin. If they had shown something like a meeting of Rasputing with them, then I would agree, but that wasn't it at all. All that happened was a minion unlocked the gate.
Hatred – this is a disgusting feeling. Yes, there is sport gambling, there is a striving to win. But to hate someone – this is awful! I think, that first of all you have to learn to respect your rival. -- Evgeni Plushenko

A mistake in the 1997 and earlier version:

While no doubt there were conmen looking to make money off the concept of Anastasia, they certainly did not succeed or find her.  ::)

Pooka is also nonexistent.

In a way, the storyline of Dmitri trying to use a fake Anastasia for money kind of reminds me of what possibly may have happened with Anna Anderson and Gleb Botkin.

Why are you guys even discussing this cartoon? Seriously! And looking for goofs? Pleeeeeeease! That was a completely made up story (call it fiction if you will)  with some of the characters vaguely resembling some historical characters.

Hollywood! They just think Historical accuracy gets in the way of a "good plot". Though i find the most most moving moving and genuinely more interesting stoires are one's based on real life, however i do admit to liking the 1997 version because it reminded me of my friend who moved and she used to love this film, oh yeah and John Cusack's voice, actually that is quite a random reason for liking something!

On the Fox Anastasia film...it is very innacurate.I doubt they did much research, and this is from a website I found...
) Did 20th Century Fox ever consider contacting and asking the advice of the present Royal Members of the Romanov Family and their relatives, as well as other Royal persons who are related to the Romanov family?
-from http://www.serfes.org/royal/anastasia.htm
If you ask me,Fox was screwed on this movie.Alexei was NOT blonde,as is shown on the tapestry behind Anya when she is at the palace. As for that fat German guy,Vladimir, the real Vladimir was NOT "Oh!HI!I'm so happy it's scary!"The real Vladimir sent the Bosheviks to kill the Imperial Family.Dmitri was really Anastasia's father's cousin. He helped Felix(Yussupov)kill Gregori Rasputin.Anya's dog Pooka was more like Anastasia's dog Jimmy.Check out this site for more stuff.....

Have any of you seen the "Secret of Anastasia" one? There could be pages of mistakes written on that, the first being that the IF probably never turned into musical instruments lol. ;)

Has anyone ever seen this film in the States?
From some of the Lobby Cards sold on ebay it looks like it goes back to the night of the murders. It ialso seems to be based more on the real story of AA than the Bergman one.
