Less then a month from now Frederik and Mary will take up residence at the Frederik VIII Palace at Amalienborg.The Palace was uninhabited since the death of Queen Ingrid who lived here for decades.It is now totally renovatedand refurbished,"some fresh paint here and there".The soon to be extended family is ready to move in:...The Palace has been open to the public for the past months,for all to see how the Brockdorf Palae looks.

When I was visiting Copenhagen in early June, I was lucky enough to wander through their residence. Unfortunately no private photography was permitted. I recall there was one wall, on which was painted a quirky map of the world. What made this map different was that it featured the Australian state of Tasmania more prominently than is usual. (I have to admit that seeing it in that novel way, brought a big smile on my face).Margarita
