Romanov_Fan_NAOTMA >> I quite enjoy images of the Romanovs as well, I have quite the image collection on my computer, so I really appreciate you sharing. There are two things that have come to my attention though, and I would like to give you the heads up. First: You might want to either make the file size of the bigger images smaller. You can do this through Adobe Photoshop, using the Image Optimizer. The reason I tell you this, is because there are poor saps on this forum (myself included) who have really crappy dialup. I only have 28.8k connection speed, and it takes anywhere from 10-15 minutes to load a image heavy page. I love this forum, and the information it contains, so I wait for all threads, but it would be nice if other members would give us the courtesy of only posting low files size images. Or if they want to post a quality large scan, just to give the link, and that way, we have an option whether we want to see the image or not. Also, FA doesn't like threads that are "cluttered" with images, so I'm just trying to save you from a whipping from him Second>> I noticed that the lovely images you showed us, where all Hotlinked/Directlinked. I was telling someone on my LJ about this the other day, so I am going to take one of my quotes from there:Hot linking is when you take the URL of the image that is being hosted, and use that URL to show others the picture. What they want you to do, if you are going to use the picture/icon that they created is to save it on your computer and upload it to your own server (Photobucket is a good one) Also.. remember to credit ^^ Another problem with hotlinking is the people who are hosting the images get their bandwidth used up, which costs money if they exceed it. It does cost money to host sites, and when we hotlink, we used their website bandwidth. Sometimes this even causes webpages to go down. I know a lot of people don't know what Hotlinking/Directlinking is, so I thought I would give you the heads up. If you want to host the images you want to share you could always get a Photobucket account. Or, if you don't want to deal with signing up, you could always use Imageshack. I welcome you to check out some of the threads in This part of the forum, it might give you some insight to internet etiquette.Cheers!
