Have you ever heard someone about to get their photo taken say, 'Make sure you get my best side!'? That may well be the reason, as many people believe they have a 'better' side of their face. For my part, I hate profile shots of myself, as they make my already-large nose look like I'm a female Cyrano de Bergerac.

Everything I've read has said Tatiana was the best looking of N&A 's daughters.This, from people who knew them,except Count Grabbe,who liked Marie. She was the most popular with the Russian people. I dont see anything wrong with her nose. I dont even see the bone that people are talking about.Its the love of shadows in photos,at the time.That may have caused this

Helen, thank you for posting so many beautiful pictures! I have most, if not all, of them already, but those are my favourites! It would be so helpful if we knew which photos had been retouched and which hadn't...that way, we could tell if the bone in Tatiana's nose was always evident, or it was just a trick of the light.
