No. Van Cleef bought the tiara and necklace from Peter & Alexandra. They took out the stones and sold the tiara to Chaumet. Chaumet replaced the emeralds with glass. It has been a show piece in the Chaumet Museum in Paris ever since. I did my research this time.  ;)

No problem. Always wanted to go to the Chaumet Museum to drool over Ella's tiara, but I heard must make appointment to visit.

This looks a bit like Ella's emerald tiara that pass through Maria Paulovna the younger, Mignon & Alexandra of Greece...

It is Ella's tiara, just the emeralds were replaced by some other stones!
The Tiara was bought by the US branch of Van Cleef & Arpels to replaced the emeralds with paste replicas. They have loaned it to many exhibitions over the years.

The interesting thing is the question does Van Cleef & Arpels still own the tiara ? I bought both picture books (Chaumet & Van Cleef & Aprels) and the Chaumet book claims that they have the tiara in the Chaumet Museum in the Place Vandome in Paris. One has to make special appointments to visit that museum.

I found rather interesting note about Prince Paul...In 1919,while staying in Italy,he wanted to marry an "Italian Princess whose mother was German" and asked King Alexander I(regent at the time) for his aproval, but was denied due to political reasons and ordered to return immediately to Serbia...faith of the Princess was not mentioned!

I thought that the Princess in question could be Bona Margherita or maybe her sister Adelaide...they were daughters of Prince Tomasso of Savoy-Genoa and German Princess Isabella of Bavaria...anyone knows anything about this or could there be any other Italian Princess whose mother was German?I only found daughters of Duke of Calabria and Maria of Bavaria who were similar in age and unmarried at the time(1919)...

Very interesting fact. His own son Alexander married an Italian Princess (Maria Pia).

The clue may lie in the fact that he might still be friends with the lady in question. May have to scan through Paul's contacts for more information.

Too bad it did not reveal the princess's identity.  :(
