I was thinking today that Mignon has many things in commun with Maria Nikolaievna...I mean they both have the same name :
Maria...they are close in age ..only one year difference between them (Mignon born in 1900 Masha in 1899)...both are a middle child
both were a little chubby (althought Mignon became in my opinion a little to fat)...and both were happy girls
who doesn't know nothing about the evil in life...

Yes,he knew...he told this to King Boris of Bulgaria few months before the assassination...he knew it was coming but just didn't know the moment or a the exact place!It was all about masonry and some things he was not willing to do...

What I meant was that he didn't know much about being shot. It wasn't instantaneous but at least he didn't linger.

The extreme case I know of was the American President James A Garfield, who staggered on for 80 days with no real hope of recovery before dying from blood poisoning.

Yes,he knew...he was informed that morning about the assassination by the Yugoslav ambassador Miroslav Spalajkovic who was in Marseilles also,but he just replied:"Now it's too late,we must stick to the schedule."

Yes,he knew moths before that he is going to be murdered,he even told this to Bulgarian King Boris...but could only speculate where and when...In the morning of 9th October 1934 when begged to cancel everything by the Yugoslav ambassador,he just replied that it's too late and that they now must proceed and stick to the schedule...

Yes,while their elder brother Peter was just part time in England as he had to be more often in the country in order to be "trained" for his future role...

My mother remembered a newsreel interview with their prep school headmaster, who said that the pair were known at school as Tom and Andy!
