The latest ones I have are from April and May of 1918. Unfortunately, they're all in French or Russian, and I ahven't had them translated yet.  :P

I found a letter written by Olga in Tobolsk dated 1918

FROM A LETTER OF GRAND DUCHESS OLGA
(the eldest daughter of Nicholas II):

"… Father asks to have it passed on to all who have remained loyal
to him and to those on whom they might have influence, that they
not avenge him; he has forgiven and prays for everyone; and not
to avenge themselves, but to remember that the evil which is now in
the world will become yet more powerful, and that it is not evil
which conquers evil, but love…"

Tobolsk, 1918
(From Letters of the Imperial Family
from Confinement, 1974.)

If I would have not know other info about Olga Nicholaievna than this letter, it would have caused me to choice her as my favorite Grand Duchess. So moving and so true...Praying for the enemies...This is a think that we uses to forget nowadays.

Dear RealAnastasia, Princess Olishka, ImperialAngel,

Your all very kind. In defference to all of you, it is i who am indebted to you. Each of you have offered me so many understandings on these threads, but most of all that of having an open heart. For me that states so much, and I thank you all again. Hugs to each of you ! God Bless.

Of course Olga's letter speaks shares to those she wrote, and to all of us, these many years later, to that of having continuing infinite faith, and always that of infinite love, even for those she and her family knew not. Nothing can be nobler. I'm so happy I found this particular letter, for it speaks volumes !

Sorry...my computer has some problems with its keys. I meant "so kind THINGS about me" and not "so kind hings" , that means nothing...

I agree completely with Tania's post about Olga's letter. That is exactly what it means. I have always liked the last words of the last paragraoh of that letter, I think it is a great quote, and I'm someone who likes quotations. Olga rather had a way with words, to make them express exactly what she meant, and to express timeless feelings that still resound with us today, in fact. Some things are timeless, and Olga's words in this letter are.

I agree -- it's a beautiful letter. But I think it's often overlooked that Olga was repeating her father's words. Certainly Olga agreed with the sentiment and felt it deeply, and perhaps even expressed it more eloquently than Nicholas would have, but the lesson they carry belongs to Nicholas II. It makes the words all the more amazing, I think, when you consider these are the feelings of a deposed autocrat in exile!

BTW, does anyone know WHO the letter was addressed to? I've been looking for ages, and can't figure it out.
