He didn't say who exactly these actors will be portraying, only that Merzlikin will represent the new Soviet, atheistic Russia, while Mikhailov - the old Tsarist Orthodox Russia.

This leads me to think that Mikhailov might be portraying GD Sergei, though I'm not sure.

I also belive that A. Mikhailov will play Sergei; he has something that resembles Sergei.

If they ever did a miniseries that features Alexandra's relatives, how about casting a little girl as the 1895-1903 "Ella" that died of typhoid?

It would depend on how relevant it was to the plot.

The movie about Grand Duchess Elizabeth was released.

"On July 18, Russia will show a feature film about St. Elizabeth Feodorovna.

The new film "Hosanna" dedicated to the Holy Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna will be shown in Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Alapaevsk, as well as on the TV channels "Spas" and "Soyuz" on July 18, 2018.

The film was created by the Kazan film crew under the direction of director Alexei Barykin with the blessing of Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan and with the financial support of the Kazan patron Andrei Kolmakov, reports the site of the Tatarstan Metropolis.

The main roles in the film were performed by famous Russian actors - Ilze Liepa, Alexander Mikhailov and Andrei Merzlikin. The film was shot in Jerusalem, Darmstadt, Wiesbaden, Kazan, Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Alapaevsk.

Much attention is paid to the stay of St. Elizabeth Feodorovna in Kazan and her contribution to the arrangement of the cathedral on the site of the appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

- When the Grand Duchess Elizabeth decided to bow to the Queen of Heaven in the place of the appearance of Her Kazan image, she noticed that there was something missing. Then, at her own expense, Elisaveta Feodorovna arranged a Cave Temple below. There are no more such temples in Russia, - said Metropolitan Theophanes of Kazan and Tatarstan.

The exit of the picture is timed to the 100th anniversary of the death of the holy royal family and other members of the Romanov dynasty. Its premiere will be held on July 18 in the Kazan cinema "Cinema 5" (TRK "Park House") (the beginning of the session is 18:00), at the same time the shows will be held in Yekaterinburg and Alapaevsk, and later in Moscow. After the film is shown in Kazan, a creative meeting will be held with its creators."
