Last photos of children and household aboard the Rus
« on: June 02, 2005, 07:40:09 PM »
Can someone tell me where to find the couple of photos taken of the imperial children aboard the Rus on their trip from Tobolsk to Ekaterinburg?

I KNOW this is here someplace, I just can't find it!

Thanks,
Sarah

That's an interesting question, Sarah Elizabeth. I thought the photos were in the book The Romanovs: Love, Power and Tragedy. But now I can't find them. There is one photo of Alexei and Olga aboard the Rus' reproduced in Gibbes' The House of Special Purpose, edited by J.C. Trewin. But I know there are also photos that include Anastasia, somewhere else - I just can't remember where right now!

Where are the photographs of the IF on the Russ?

What threads?  URLs?

What books?
#TSAR, THE LOST WORLD OF NICHOLAS AND ALEXANDRA by Peter Kurth
(1) p 189 - Tyumen, gangway to Russ
(2) p. 189 Alexei and Olga
(3) p. 189 Tatiana and Olga and Anastsia
# THE HOUSE OF SPECIAL PURPOSE  by Gibbes
(1) Alexei and Olga
(2) gangway where the Rus docked at Tyuman

I know I've seen some but can't remember where.

There was also a discussion about the If traveling on the Rus.... What thread was it???

I think you can find the photos in Peter Kurth's "Tsar".

Does anyone have the last real photos of the Children and the household on the train to Ekaterinburg?

Could you please post?

I do not have access to them at this time.

They maybe on another thread but I have noticed since the crash of the board that some of the old threads are not all inclusive.

Thanks

These were taken on the steamship Rus, during the children's transfer from Tobolsk to Ekaterinburg. They're the last known photos of any of NAOTMAA:

There is also a photo in, I think, Tutor to the Tsarevich, which shows some of the staff on the train going to Ekaterinburg.

Oh, you're right -- there's two or three people sitting in a row on a bench. I've seen that photo, but I don't think I have it.

Thanks for posting them Sarushka. I wonder what the last photo of Maria was?  ??? It's too bad the picture of Tatiana and Anastasia is such bad quality, you can hardly see their faces.  :(
