Can any child had a disadvantage for a grand mother?, i can understand that she didn´t acepted Olga´s husband and Mischa´s wife, because her sense of royaltie, but a child.......

as a person who has very strained relationship with a pair of grandparents i say, yes, it can happen.

my mother's parents love my sister but hold me indifferent (the feeling is totally mutual). it's not something i assume, one can feel when someone cares or not. on the other hand my father's parents love me a lot, and while they are not indifferent to my sister, it's less of a feeling... it's something that has been aknowledged in the family for years.

I think that Minnie loved all her grandchildren very much. I don't believe how she would call one of her grandchildren 'ugly.' I reckon that Anastasia was closest to her out of all the grandchildren.

I think I read (perhaps in Michael & Natasha) that after the Revolution, Natasha did take George to visit MF.

I find that there are not many photos of the Dowager Empress with her grandchildren on this forum.
It's a pity because it would be very interesting to see them together.
I would be really happy and grateful if someone can post pictures of the childs in group or individualy with their grandmother.

Actually quite a few of them were published especially with the sons of Xenia and Nicky's girls on the "Polar Star".

Here's a rather famous one of the Dowager Empress, Nicholas II & his daughters. Also there was one of Nicholas, Alexandra, the infant Olga & Marie Feodorovna. It's one of the few with Marie Feodorovna & Alix together.

I don't want to get off topic but I was wondering if anyone knew the name of the smiling woman next to Minnie (who is next to Vassili and his bicycle)? Perhaps a lady-in-waiting?
