Recently in a letter of Countess Alexandra Shuvalova (childhood friend of Nicholas II and eldest daughter of Count Illarion Vorontzov-dashkov) I've read about one of such balls, Easter 1911 year. There are 64 guests at Anichkov Palace - mostly nobles from the inner circle of friends of MF, relatives of the Vorontzov-Dashkov, the Cheremetevs etc, also GDss Xenia Alexandrovna's children and GDss Viktoria Fedorovna's daughters. All children were with their parents (mostly with a mother). They enjoyed the ball - there were a performance of a magician and 'hunt' for putting up Easter eggs. To each parent Empress MF presented a whole Faberge egg.
