I was looking some more through this wonderful site (Too bad I can't read Russian!) and came across this painting... it has the IF in it... and the basement... it sent chills through me. To get a large photo, there's a link at the bottom of the pic to maximize this. Then a magnifying glass cursor will appear to make it even bigger.

Is this suppost to be Nicky?

No, it's General Skobelev. Alexander III is a few rows back from him wearing a crown and Alexander II is three rows back. I actually can't find Nicholas II in this picture. He must be somewhere lost in the crowd, which is curious given Alexei's prominence.

It's like you can almost hear the eerie music and the singing of the saints and the sound of the sleighs running through the snow.  It is haunting; they capture the likenesses amazingly. :o

Thanks you for posting that. It is amazing. I found Truman in it.

Elisabeth & Georgiy>Thank you for answering my question. I too cannot find NII anywhere in that photo. I was wondering if it was cut off like Georgiy said. I wonder where we'll find the full version.

nerdycool> Thanks for the link to the other painting. All of these are quite something!

This web site has the Ilya's painting and has a link that names everyone in it. However, it is all in Russian. Maybe someone can translate. It's a good site.

I don't read Russian, but sometimes I can piece together what something says. And according to that, Nicholas II (#104) is located behind and a little to the left of Alexander III. I personally think he looks really mean... not like Nicholas at all, except for maybe the beard.

Laura is right, that is AII, Nicholas is directly behind his father on the left, almost in profile.
