I love that for Nicholas, Alexandra, Olga, Tatiana, and Maria there's three different days where people wish them a happy birthday. Poor Anastasia and Aleksey only get two. 

And of course their name days get celebrated too. So I guess in some instances it's four!

I have no reservations in expressing my affection and gratitude for the lovely governess any day of the year...so now matter what day her birthday ought to be celebrated; Наилучшие пожелания всегда в жизни, смерти, и в последующий период прекрасных Великой Герцогини!

You're perfectly on time. Tatiana's birthday was 10 June new style the year she was born, but in the twentieth century it became 11 June when the calendars moved from twelve to thirteen days apart.

Instead of wishing "Happy Birthday" I'll simply be giving some extra thought and energy to the lovely Grand Duchess and commemorate this day of her birth. An important historical event far as I'm concerned. For nothing else in her life could have taken place without it :-)

117-years ago today the Governess was born!

100-years ago today she would have been celebrating her 17th birthday. A beautiful young woman coming of age during the last peaceful month of her life.
