Yes, probably you're right.

Principe Umberto in L'Aquila, Abruzzo (the region where I live):

You're welcome!, that is my favorite web site about History of Italian Monarchy, it's full of wonderful photos that I've never seen anywhere else.

Yes, it's big, not like Turin, but big...and full of art and historical places, my favorite place it's Piazza Cairoli (Cairoli Square) with the monument of King Umberto I, and Ottolenghi Palace...but unfortunately I have seen it just in documentaries and books, I have visited Piemonte but I haven't visited Asti yet. :- (

Are you gone call Gabrielle Mr Lowe regarding these pictures?  ;)
How tall was the King? Are we talking small size man here? He looks so tall but you never know. He is most of the time up on high heel.

I don't know exactly how tall was Umberto II, but surely he wasn't less than 185 cm...

I heard Marie Jose was taller than him, so she does not wear heels (especially in photos).

Yes dear Mr. Lowe I also read somewhere that the Belgium princess inherited the Saxe Cobourg feature. Her mother was small 5'1 as her clothing in Bruxelles Royal Palace shows it well. Is there any picture of Umberto in mourning suit?

He looked good in suits and uniform. In the Spanish book on Baby Bee (Infanta Beatiz of Borbon-Orleans) there is a photo of him in swimming trunks lying beside some lady...

Amedeo, could you please explain to me what is the nature of the crest, I believe it is a royal crest, you have next to your name.

I know some books on King Umberto II, but all in Italian language, I don't know if you can find English versions of them:

Giovanni Artieri - Umberto II il re gentiluomo.

Gianni Oliva - Umberto II, l'ultimo re

Gigi Speroni - Umberto II, il dramma segreto dell'ultimo re.
