Unfortunately (and shamely, I dare say) he didn't. Communists/Republicans didn't allow him to be buried in his homeland, despite his whole family, some Italian political personalities and even President Alessandro Pertini (who had been a socialist partisan during 1943-1945, and was President of the Italian Republic in when King Humbert died) asked for that at that time. Recently someone brought up again that question, but Communist/Republicans still do everything to prevent Humber II's burial in Italy; may be they still fear him even if he's dead...who knows...
King Humbert II and King Victor Emmanuel III (who's been buried in Alexandria of Egypt, where he died in 1947) deserve to rest in peace among their ancestors (King Victor Emmanuel II and King Humbert I) inside the Pantheon in Rome!
