Splendor In Exile
« on: June 08, 2005, 06:32:32 PM »
King Constantine II in a book called Splendor In Exile said "Exile is a Greek habit."  Constantine's children are Alexia, born 1965, Paul, born in 1967, Nicholas, born in 1969, Theodora, born in 1983, and Philip, born in 1986.  The children of Sofia (Constantine's sister, now of Spain, of course) are Elena, born 12-20-63, Cristina, born 6-13-65, and Filipe, the Crown Prince, born 1-30-68.  Elena and her husband Jamie Marichalar have two children, Felipe, born in 1998, and Victoria Federica, born in 2000.  Cristina and her husband Inaki Unagadrian also have two children, Juan Valentin, born in 1999, and Pablo Nicholas, born in 2000.

I am interested in this new generation of royals descended from King Paul and Queen Frederica and would welcome any information you have about them.

I have this book. It is titled Splendor In Exile, The Ex-Majesties of Europe. It was written by Charles Fenyvesi and published in 1979. ISBN#0-915220-55-5.
I found my copy at a library book sale and I do not know if it is still available. I've never seen it. You might check bookfinder.com.
It is a fairly good book, with short narratives about several deposed and would-be kings.
The stories contain interesting contemporary information about the royal families.
Former/would-be kings interviewed for this book include: Otto von Habsburg, Louis Ferdinand Hohenzollern, Umberto of Savoy, Dom Duarte Joao, Henri Bourbon-Orleans, Louis-Napoleon, Simeon of Bulgaria, Constantine of
Greece, Michael of Roumania, Alexander of Yugoslavia, King Leka, and several Romanovs.

Maki,
Let me know if you need me to look something up out of it.  I would be more than glad to do so.

Prince_Christopher,
A quick answer; thank you so much.  I'll search for the book, since you've provided the author and ISBN number.  My primary interest right now is in Constantine II of Greece.
