and this picture was captioned as being Serge, GD Paul and GD Elizabeth, but it doesnt look like Ella to me..

Grand Duke Paul's wife was Alexandra Georgievna Princess of Greece - their daughter was named Maria.
In the photograph is Grand Duke Serge with Queen Olga of Greece and her brother Grand Duke KR (definitely taken before Elisaveta Feodorovna became part of the family)

The photo was taken in 1882, in Greece.

He strikes me as very odd yet very interesting indeed    how tall was he     was he ever given the Order of The Garter

The only ones Knights of the The Most Noble Order of the Garter in Russia were Emperors Alexander I, Nicholas I and Alexander II.

Ah, let us not forget that "Grand Duke Nicholas Alexandrovich (Later HIM Nicholas II) of Russia ( 1868-1918) " was made Knight of the most Noble Order of the Garter in 1893, during the reign of Queen Victoria.  He is frequently seen in a formal photograph  posing in British Officer Naval uniform, wearing the Garter Ribband and the star.  Contrary to the Russian Order of Saint Andrew, the British Garter Ribband goes over the LEFT shoulder.  Additionally, the Emperor Alexander III received his garter in 1881 and the Grand Duke Michael A. in 1902.   At the moment, however, I do not see that the Grand Duke Serge A. ever received the Garter.       AP

GD Sergei never received the Garter, true. About others I'll check my sources.

Where was the above picture taken of the grave? I thought Sergei's grave was destroyed during the Soviet era.
