Where was the above picture taken of the grave? I thought Sergei's grave was destroyed during the Soviet era.
Was the recreation of the memorial for Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovitch placed on the site of his assassination like the original or was it located elsewhere due to modern construction in Moscow?http://fotosa.ru/stock_photo/Reflexo/p_2548157.jpg

that they insist on referring to him as a "martyr" who died for his faith, and state - on the basis of God knows what evidence - that he and Ella decided before marriage to "live as brother and sister" to keep themselves pure.

Only to the sort of extreme nationalists who see the autocratic monarchy as the only government for Russia can Serge be considered a "martyr" and it's alarming so that so many churches in Russia seem actively to subscribe to this viewpoint.
Can someone confirm for me - is this the actual current grave of GD Sergei in the NovoSpasskiy Monastery? I am aware of the fact that his grave was inadvertantly perserved under a soviet parking lot for years and he was eventually moved to the monastery - I'm wondering if this is a real picture of the current grave? many thanksdca
