Have any letters between them been published?

No, as far as I know.

GD Sergei was very close to his sister Maria as children. Does anyone know if their relationship remain close or did they become slightly distanced after her marriage? Also, is there any record of what Sergei felt when his sister married? Do any letters exchanged between them exist today?

They were close all their life, and exchanged letters as well. Maria's marriage and leaving for England was a great sad event for Sergei, in his diary he tells how devastated he was...His entries in the diary about that are in the 2nd volume of the recent bio-books on him. So, you'll read it soon!))

May I ask - what do you mean "...diary about that are in the 2nd volume of the recent bio-books on him..." mean?  Is there a new bio on Serge in Engish by chance?

thank you

I mean 3 recent volumes on GD Sergei in Russian. The books with his survived diaries, recollections on him by his tutors and contemporaries. There's a thread about it somewhere in Books about Romanovs section.

Very nice. I really like this photo. It for some reason to me seems a bit humorous.

Yes unlike Sasha (Alexander III), Alexis & Vladimir who were big and became fat later. Serge, Pavel & Nixa were quite slim.

You know what, maybe you're right, Sergei  looks almost the same in the both pictures (if it was indeed the same photoshoot of course - according on Russian sources first picture was taken in 1866, and the next one - in 1864, so it can't be the same session or description is just wrong). Anyway - the same source says that it's Serge.
Funny, I always thought it's Pavel. XD

GD Sergei with GD Ella, little Dmitri Pavlovich and Maria Pavlovna, following the Imperial couple, 1903. (damn watermarks:-()

Happened the same thing with this portrait...

A portrait of young GD Sergei (by unknown artist)

A few weeks ago i had a discussion with a Flickr user who had this one as Gd Nicholas Nicholaevich. Obviously its not him  and i said it was Pavel since the portrayed one looks  A LOT like him. Well..i was looking this topic and i saw this post labeling the image as Gd Serge. So both were wrong then xD...but still i think it looks way to much like Pavel

Scares the hell outta me that image. He looks very tormented (Well, in mostly of the images of him in this period). I rather to see images of young Sergei. Anyway great quality, thanks for posting!
