TM started a three day State Visit to Croatia yesterday.

Being a resident of Wilmington, DE, this bit of news was of interest to me and I thought I'd share it here.    We're celebrating the 375th anniversary of the landing of the Kalmar Nykle from Sweden which brought the first permanent settlers to what is now Wilmington.   The King and Queen of Sweden will be coming here to help us celebrate.  Here's the news clip:

Another Delawarean!   I'm from Newark though, with my husband being AF it's been some time since we've lived there. We'll be retiring back to DE eventually though.

King Gustav IV Adolf and Queen Louise paid a visit, when Crown Prince and Princess, to Delaware in 1926 as part of a celebration of the Swedes arrival. They also visited Pennsylvania, DC and Virginia. Prince Oscar had visited 50 years before that.

HM King Carl XVI Gustav , and all of Sweden...celebrated his 40th anniversary as Monarch of Sweden last weekend.
The government hosted a dinner and concert,there was a Te Deum attended by the neighbours,TM Queen Margrethe II and King Harald,
a festive street party that lasted the whole weekend.
