In the "Nikola and Milena" book on the Montenegros that fact is put like a myth.

I think too it is not probably true, besides I think the King would not have been particularly happy of that (he was quite jealous). In any case I must add that on her name day (18th august) she received hundreds of telegrams and flowers from everywhere ( I read this in the court diaries of the summer residence of Valdieri, where the Royal Family used to spend august) so one never knows.

Elena married Viktor in 1896 but gave birth to her first child only in 1901. Five years without children which was in this time quite unnormal. Does anybody know why? Did she have misscarriages, didn't get along with her husband or etc.?

Maybe they wanted to wait a few years before popping out babies left and right like every royal? I don't know. But their marriage was a love match.
