Portrait Identification
« on: June 26, 2005, 12:54:02 PM »
I found this portrait at a website but it doesn't have any identification. Only this legend: "Queen in Frederick's Castle, Hillerod, Denmark".

Please, can someone identify who is this Queen of Denmark?

I would be very grateful (and Marc also)  ;) ;D Thank you very much.

She was a princess of Denmark before marrying the Prince of Wales.  Eventually
she became Queen Consort of Edward VII.  I think she lived until 1928.

Queen Alexandra of Great Britain, née Princess of Denmark (well actually Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg) in 1844, died in 1925.  married The Pricne of Wales, future King Edward VII (1841-1910) in 1863.  Mother of six: Albert Victor, George, Louise, Victoria, Maud and John.

You were close! ;) Alexandra died in 1925. It was her younger sister, Marie Feodorovna of Russia who died in 1928.

Hi. I was wondering if this lady is really Queen Louise of Sweden, mother of Queen Lovisa of Denmark. Thanks in advanced!

Hi Katy! That's queen Josephine of Sweden, queen Louise's mother in law.

Looks like Princess Maria Pawlowna, who was a Russian Princess and married Prince Wilhelm of Sweden
