Princess Madeleine's son, Prince Nicolas Paul Gustaf, Duke of Ångermanland, was christened today in the chapel of Drottningholm Palace, by the German-born Archbishop(ess) Antje Jackelén.

Godparents:
Prince Carl Philip (maternal uncle), Countess Natascha Abensperg und Traun (paternal aunt), Gustaf Magnuson (maternal cousin), Katarina von Horn (Swedish noblewoman), Henry d'Abo (father's brother-in-law) and Marco Wajselfisz (Jewish?).
The d'Abo family has a very interesting history: Descending from a 16th century family first of Åbo / Aabo (presumably in Denmark, not Åbo / Turku in Finland), then in Århus, Norway, Netherlands Indies and finally in England. Henry d'Abo is the first cousin of the current Duke of Rutland.
BTW it was reported that Madeleine was very upset that her friend Emma Pernald, Carl Philip's ex-girlfriend, was not to be invited. Does Princess Sofia really feel that threatened by her former rival? One would perhaps think that this is a sign that Sofia can't cope with the upper classes' bedhopping games, but then she is hardly respectable middle class herself. Perhaps it's Paradise Hotel / real redneck melodramatic antics showing.
Equally pretentious is of course the spelling "Nicolas", for a name that is usually found in the form "Niklas" in Sweden. At least they could have used the etymologically correct form Nikolas.
