You makes me hungry reading your post! "Doritos" seems yummy! But are you sure that they aren't related to mexican "Nachos"?

And now that we are speaking about meals, I would like to invite the Tsar to my personal "dacha" in Buenos Aires province, along to eat a wonderful and tasty "Asado" (our National Barbacoa!  ::)) with lettuce, tomato and onions salad, dressed with lemon, oyl and salt. As dessert, our blessed Tsar could have an Argentinian pancacke filled with "dulce de leche" (a tick milk caramel; well, I think it's toffee).

Of course, all the family is also invited to my exclusive party. We'll perform dances and exhibitions.

RealAnastasia.

What's new, Buenos Aires? I'm new and you wanna know whatcha gonna get in me? Just a little touch of star quality...

Dear Count Valentin,
I am certainly glad that you thoroughly explained yourself in that other post - because even I, knowing what happened, left the first one aghast!  My, how our minds wander...

Thank you, GD Anna - I shall wear the pearl tiara then.  It should go quite nicely, I think.

Oh, and dear Count... although your haiku was just perfect, I do think poor Ritka might be feeling just a little put out by it.  You might wish to compose something to lift her spirits. (but you had me roaring in the aisle  ;D)

Sincerest regards,
Tashenka

GD/GP Janet - Yes, chocolate is best unburnt. Another of my Zen masters in the Orient was deeply interested in alternative chocolate styles, and once wrote:

Painting by numbers
Melted chocolate by brush
Ouch! Wow is that hot

But, years later, his scars had almost completely healed

Tashenka darling, you're quite right. I must apologize, Ritka dear...my haiku ran off while I wasn't watching.

Chocolate bunny
You look dee-lish - where to start?
You can't hear?....eerie...

Argh..there it goes again!

I shall try to compose something suitably cheering shortly...

My dear count,
Perhaps you could compose something for the gala I am throwing.

Dearest Real Anastasia:

Thank you for your kind invitation and airplane tickets.

GD Anna, GD Janet  and various imperials are flying immediately to your Palace in that great country in the southern hemisphere.

I just received a telgramme from Presidente Nestor.  He states that the Russian royals are more than welcome to stay at his palace in that great city of Good Air, also known as Buenos Aires.

Your menu of barbacoa and salad sounds, well, delicioso to say the most.

Nestor was wondering if he too is welcome at this festivale at your palace?  We do not know if your politicos are the same as el presidente but he forgives you and welcomes you into his ever increasing family of people on his ever expanding payroll.  He even promised myself a few coins of the realm.  I wonder, are they real gold, or chocolate?

See you soon Anastasia.  Also, do you have some of your wonderful leche for my stomach?

Most gracious and sincerely, adios and see you soon,

Tsar Doug...flying down to Buenos via Airmexicana

All right... my turn to try...

Irridescent pearl
Halo amongst auburn hair
like a moonlit crown

Gracefully she steps
toward the unsuspecting gent
in a velvet gown

Syllabically ours,
Tashenka

Well, President Nestor Kirchner is "an habitué" to royals. He know them very well, since our dear Maxima Zorreguieta is married to the Netherland's Crown Prince. I can invite them both to our "Asado", if I may have your blessing  (of course!  ;D). And president Kirchner could be present too. Or perhaps, you'll rather like we have our celebration in the president's "Estancia" in Patagonia (Estancia is a kind of Argentinian ranch). He is a very good hostess (not a very good man, but a great hostess, indeed!  ;D)

Our "Asado" is like a barbacoa, certainly, but the cow's meat is barbecued with the bones. Really delicious. It's a national dish. The "Dulce de Leche" it's easy to make in home, my blessed Tsar. You have two recipes to do it. The hard one and the easy one. I'll write here, the second one, the easy one, especially for you. Take a sugared condensed milk can and put it in a pot who could go to the fire. Make the can boit 1-2 or 3 hours (it's depend if you like your dulce de leche more liquid and clair or more hard and brown). After it, retire the pot from the fire put the can aside AND ALLOW IT TO COLD VERY WELL!! (If you open the can before it is really cold, the dulce de leche would jump dierctly to the roof and could burn your Imperial Skin!). Whe the "dulce de leche" is already cold, you may eat it right away, or fill cakes with it, or put it over the bread as jam, or fill pancakes with it. Do it, and tell me how you likes it. Of course, if you comes to my country, you may purchase it already made. We eat it like jam and it's near the jams in the supermarket.

Oh...Let me said you a little thing, our respected Tsar: don't travel via Airmexicana. Buenos Aires is Argentina's capital and we are near the South Polo. Travel by "Aerolíneas Argentinas", and bring sweaters and such things...we are in the middle of the winter, and this is not a tropical country! (It's like EEUU. In the north-East we have sobtropical weather, but in the rest is quite like New York's one...And if you come to Patagonia with our president, the weather it's very similar to Siberia's one!

With all my respect and ready to receive you here.
Princess Anastasia.

A NOTE:

I will be leaving for Colorado tomorrow morning. I won't be back until 17 August and I am afraid I have no guarantee I will be able to get to the computer or this lovely thing which I have been making cake for all day long.

Enjoy the cake, darlings, I will see if there is an Imperial Library in Colorado but I have no guarantee. :(

Farewell for the next couple weeks,

Ritka Markovna, Claimant and Grand Duchess

Dearest Princess Anastasia De La Real and Courtiers:

Oh my, thank you so much for the warning about AirMexicana.  I had no idea that the tires of their planes are fixed up with bandaids and string.  Oy, vey and muchas gracias.  Do they serve Russian style meals on Aerolineas Argentina?  If not a Happy Meal would be fine.

Oh, my dear, yes, we would so much like to visit  El Presidente's  fabulous 'Estancia'.   When I was in America we called them, el Rancho Grande....that was back when I was in the movies with Ginger and Fred.

This wonderful trip to your country will remind me of when I made "Flying Down To Rio" in my Hollywood days ...except this time we will be inside the plane instead of standing on the wings.

I am sure that GD Anna is well acquainted with the Crown Prince of the Netherlands as she is very much connected with all the royals of that great nation of artists such as Rembrandt Van Rijn and other notibles of the artistic type. ;D

I will have our chef fix up your Recipe for Cooked Canned milk and let you know how it goes.  He would have to make the 'easy' one as our dear chef is a little,  slow on complicated things like boiling water.  You see what I mean, dear?

All for now and see you in Patagonia the land of beef and bones.

Tsar Doug  ;D :D 8)

Would the Crown Prince mind if I had a whirl on the dancefloor with Maxima?   I am not too bad with the Tango and the Cha, Cha, Cha.

Tsar Doug,
I am throwing a royal fit! You did not mention anything about all I have done to the palace in your honor...the throne room, the dorito shrubs. I give up. All party plans are cancelled. I am going to the convent for I am in disfavor with the tsar, :'( :'( :'(
Sobbing my way to the nunnery,

Dearest Lexi:

I have twelve secretaries that report to me on the Courtiers every day at noon.  I checked all of the reports that are bound in a leather book with silver and gold hinges.  WELL,  I have just discovered that Novanon my secretary from Bratslovia failed to report about your party.  Please forgive me.

If at all possible we would love to attend your party and sit on the new throne in that redecorated room with the plastic bowls with the Doritos.  We will be there tomorrow, dance the night away, and then you may join us on our trip to Argentina and our visit to the Estancia of el Presidente and the royals that have fled to South America to dine on beef cooked with the bones.  You'll love it and you can meet some royals from Holland that live there now and are married to the upper classes of Argentina.

Also we can visit the grave of my dear friend from the 1940's:  Evita.  I think they named a Musicale after her....but I'm not sure of this.

Tsar Doug....on the way to Lexi's for Doritos and Dips plus some Break Dancing. ;D :D ;)

lexi dahhling, but of course I would be honored to try my hand at a composition to be read at your gala.

Doritos, Duchess?
Orange crumbs on velvet, silk
Munching to Mussorgsky

Princess Tasha - I love your composition...and that velvet gown. Would you condescend to dance, my Lady?

My grand imperial tsar,
Thank you. You have saved me from the convent. I was not looking forward to the life ahead of me cloistered away with singing nuns.
It is my honor to entertain you and all will be ready for you tonight. As a special gift to you, we will be showing, for the first time, the new movie Flight of the Penguins. I am sure it will bring back fond memories of your recent excusion to the south pole.
In your honor, during the movie only, have have arranged to serve popcorn doritos.
And yes, I will join you on the trip to Estancia of el Presidente and the royals that have fled to South America. Dining on beef cooked with the bones sounds divine. And of course it will offer me the opportunity to visit with RealAnastasia. Fire your secretary.
