Feodor Oom (b. 1826) was secretary of Empress Maria Feodorovna. His mother Anna Oom (nee Furman, 1791-1850) was raised in the Olenin family, which acquainted her with leading literary figures of the early XIX c. Petersburg: Pushkin, Batyushkov (who was in love with Anna and even proposed to her but was rejected), Derzhavin, Krylov, Zhukovsky and Gnedich (who was her teacher - and another unsuccessful suitor). In 1821 she married a wealthy Revel merchant Willhelm Adolf Oom; upon his bankruptcy and death in 1827, Anna returned to Petersburg where the influential Olenins secured her appointment as chief inspector of the Imperial Orphanage.

The source is the Large Russian Biographical Dictionary . Anna is the only Oom listed there.
