I have heard that OTMA loved to play game  which called  "one rouble game" or "to play in rouble"
(igraty v rouble) in Russian.
Did somebody hear about it?
I undertstand that rouble is the money unit.
Maybe, it was some kind of tramp game?

In their letters, the Grand Duchesses often mention the game 'Colorito' and the Grand Duchess Maria also talks about a game which they called 'The slower you go the sooner you reach your destination.'

Does anyone know anything about the game 'Colorito'?

Thanks Lanie! Do you know if that game is still played today? It must have been fun, because the Imperial Family semeed to play it a lot!  :)

OTMA

Most of the swimsuits of the period looked similar to that. ^

The bathing suits the girls wore would eventually become almost long dresses, which would cover the "appropriate" areas.

I doubt that Alexandra went swimming very often and if she did, only in the company of her immediate family (maybe ladies in waiting as well). Alexandra's sense of propriety was very strong and I cannot imagine her swimming in front of guests or anyone really other than her husband or children. I don't think it would have been proper anyway for her to do otherwise.
