Mm I don't think so... I actually can see the cameo-like profile of T. But I have to admit that the picture is not really clear & that maybe the brain see what it want to see.. =)

Maybe.. If we go logical, I could say that most of the time, O & T weared the same clothes and M & A weared one of different styles/colors. But, I don't think you could ever be able to say a 100% sure if it's Tatiana or Maria.

Back to topic, I know that we could actually purcahse old Brownie cameras, but do they work ? And can we buy film for them.. You know to eventually take picture with old Brownie camera and developp them ? I think it could be really interesting !

Well, I'm 100% sure of what I think -- Tatiana -- but I won't pitch a fit if anyone disagrees! ; )

I vote Tatiana because she and Olga both wore their hair shorter (as in the picture) due to being older.

Yes but if I'm not mistaken, the picture was taken in 1917, so Maria was aged of 18, so she wore her hair up too. Anyways I vote for Tatiana too due to the cameo-like profile.

1916, according to Tatiana's personal photo albums.

Ahh thank you for correcting me !  I think that it's just another more proof that the girl is Tatiana.

It was taken in 1916, somewhere in Belarus. There are two more, with Olga and Anastasia. Also, there are two I seen of Olga alone with children.  :D

Where did you learn it come from Tatiana's personal album, Sarushka?
It couldn't be taken in 1917, Olga is smiling, never seen any member smiling in captvity.

Prince Michael of Greece's book, Nicholas and Alexandra: The Family Albums says Tatiana wrote all the children's names in her album. There are also some photos of the children alone.

No wonder the Tsar and all the guys swam naked, who would ever put one of those swimsuits on unless they were forced to!

Somewhere in one of the albums there is a picture of the Tsar in the full Monty, so nudity didn't mean as much to them (despite Victorian mores) as it seems to mean to us.  This fact was brought out in the forum over a year ago by one of our "higher ups".

Good thing we have so many kids on the forum or the picture would have presented itsself by now....

Which family album was the infamous picture located in? -curious, because I am doing a study on naturism versus porn, folks today are so pressed on nudity that most of them forget the innocence of social nudity-

There's one or two in Tsar: The Lost World of Nicholas & Alexandra and I think at least one (which might be a duplicate) in Nicholas & Alexandra: The Family Albums. I also have the scans in my files. To my knowledge there are three photos showing the tsar in states of partial nudity, as well as two of Aleksei. PM me if you'd like them for your study.

Without a doubt:  TN. Marie was never that thin until she was sick in 1917...but she was never that  flat ...  Besides it looks like TN imo. I was just talking about this series  photos with a friend...how unique they are and therefore  precious...the imperial train was stopped...the girls disembarked with candy ,a camera  and smiles and we have these remarkable photos.

The bathing suits the girls wore would eventually become almost long dresses, which would cover the "appropriate" areas.

I doubt that Alexandra went swimming very often and if she did, only in the company of her immediate family (maybe ladies in waiting as well). Alexandra's sense of propriety was very strong and I cannot imagine her swimming in front of guests or anyone really other than her husband or children. I don't think it would have been proper anyway for her to do otherwise.

In accounts I have read people would - in private at least - bathe naked. No official pics of course would show this, but there was a basic better tolerance of nudity generally than is accepted in our prudish 'Americo-centrically dominated' world, even in the UK. Puritanism currently holds sway, lol, due to US influence. Germans will know what I mean, lol. Swimsuits would be worn when in male company, but otherwise not.
