I've been searching for Agra's wedphoto and finally...Her mother, Luise Sophie, in her memoirs wrote that Agra was more beautiful bride than Wilhelm II's daughter, Viktoria Luise. Viktoria Luise married 2 or 3 weeks after Agra and acid Luise Sophie, who hated everything connected and related to Wilhelm II, insisted that Agra had a better dress and better appeareance...Well...Sorry, but I don't see anything better than Viktoria Luise's dress (known by illustrations) and moreover VL married for love and definitely had more happier face than Agra with her gloomy appearance and a husband who had been dictated by Kaiser.

Prinz Heinrich XXXIII. Reuss, about whom Agra's father said: "Agra is marrying a sick-man". Luise Sophie didn't like a sophisticated surround of the Reuss Princes,she considered them too arrogant and insisted that the life of her family was very simple and unpretentious. Her words should be read with a grain of salt - she was up-to-ears in her hatred to Wilhem II and all his actions,who arranged the marriage of Agra.

Actually they both look like they have been given a life sentence. Doomed marriage from the very beginning. Later Luise Sophie blamed Heinrich in Agra's early death.

Once again, Agra doesn't look very happy.

I dug out my copy of Luise Sophie's book last night.

According to her, Agra and Heinrich XXXIII met on a boating outing organised by her cousin Eitel Friedrich. After only about four meetings, Agra decided she was in love and Heinrich proposed. Agra's parents (not unreasonably) suggested they wait a year to get to know one another properly, but the Kaiser interpreted this as a slight on Heinrich and steamrollered them into marrying at once.

She doesn't say much more about the marriage, except that Heinrich had given Agra 'more than enough reason' to divorce him.

Luise Sophie doesn't say anything about that. A newspaper with Agra's obituary says that she died after a short illness.

It's interesting that Agra and Reuss began their divorce process in 1920, and were divorced only in 1922.
