I will just continue to be old fashioned and use common sense to know that the executioners did not fail in their mission.

Any true "survivor" of the massacre would have been recognised by surviving members of the family, after all everybody acknowledged  Minnie and her daughters   the same would have happened to one of Nicky's daughters, they would have been taken in by surviving members, not left to marry peasants and live in obscurity whispering their little secrets.
Unfortunately when royalty / celebrities die in such horrific conditions some people want to believe the truth could not have happened and the "survivors" could be living on a remote island like ELVIS or living in secret like the Romanov Grand Duchesses.

I'm not saying it is true or false but how do you know Granny Alina is Maria Nikolaievna? I saw one photo of her she rarely looks like Maria! Maybe because she had a hat on! But does anyone else have any more photos of her? Where are her sons and grandchildren today?

There are absolutely no facts which indicate that the woman is Maria.  The woman herself never claimed to be anyone other than a "princess" (not a grand duchess) from Russia.

And the fact that her descendants refuse a dna test is indicative of the fact that they do not believe she is Maria.

I'm very surprised about some claimants, for most of the time, they only are able to show ONE or at least, two pics of them. Of course, antropologic test, DNA and all this kind of stuff is more important than photos...But it's also very important that a claimant would ressemble , at least "a little" to the people they claim they are!

I would like to see some more photos of Granny Alena...And at least ONE of Filipp Grigorievich Semionov, Larissa Feodorovna (yes, I know there is one, ut too blurry), Alexandra Michaelis, Tatia Romani, Margda Boodts and all the other pretenders whose names are not fresh in my memory by now.   . Didin't they show more pics for the same reasons that they are refusing to test their DNA?
