Another: The battle of Vileyka September 1915 by Frank Pleszak This is about a little known battle which the Russians defeated the Germans and end the German advance in the East in 1914. If you google search you can find out a little more on this battle. The author is also writing a book on the battle of Lake Naroch which may be out next year.

I can't speak about the quality of the book , but the subject is neat. GD Alexis' US tour was quite an event. He met many of the most prominent personalities of the day there, and had some real adventures, in spite of the stage- managed nature of many of them.

Helen R had a book coming out in 2017 dealing with Petrograd 1917 according to a magazine I was fliping through I wrote down the title but lost the piece of paper i wrote it on.

Is anyone planning to get "The Romanovs: 1613-1918" by Simon Sebag Montefiore (861 pages)

It seems rather limiting to write a history of the Romanov dynasty throughout two centuries when they really didn't have that much in common with each other. I could understand writing an 800+ page history of Russia 1613-1918, but lumping both Romanov tsars, autocrats and Holstein-Gottorp emperors together into one narrative just because they all claimed to be Romanovs seems a bit simplistic to me.
