Good idea Svetabel!

Sadly neither Mathilde nor Ludwig´s good looks passed on their children, about whom I´d like to know more. Anton seemed to lead a quite desolate life, but what about his sister Marie Immaculée who died in Italy in 1940?

Looking at the inscription of his grave in Rieden near Starnberg, his name was Antonius.  ;)
Ich aber breite trauernd aus
die weiten weissen Schwingen,
Und kehr' ins Feenreich nach Haus -
Nichts soll mich wieder bringen.

Very latin, isn´t it? Maybe the parents were thinking of some Roman Emperor when their son was born? ;) Were there some Antons/Antonius´ in Mathilde´s or Ludwig´s family circle?

The mother of Prince Ludwig of Saxe Coburg was a Brasilian/Portuguese ( Princess Leopoldina). António is a common name in Portugal/Brasil. Prince Ludwig's  cousin called António. He was the yougest son of Princess Isabel, Countess d' Eu.

She was beautiful and elegant  but always she looks melancholic. Why she was buried in Rieden and not in the Saxe Coburg crypt? Did she wish so? Ludwig and his seconf wife Anna von Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg , are buried in Coburg.

She looks really beautiful in the last photo! She was very elegant, this dress is really nice, is this her wedding gown
or just a common dress?

I thought that was a wedding gown for the color, but it wasn't necessary true... this
dress is very beautiful, and she had a very beautiful figure too.
