St. Alexei's Chapel has been consecrated!
« on: July 31, 2005, 05:45:06 PM »
Here is a link to pictures of the consecration of the Chapel of the Tsarevich-Martyr Alexei in Canada.  This may be the first church outside of the Russian speaking world that has been dedicated especially to him.  Pictures are down towards the bottom of the page.

Hurrah!  Hurrah!!  Hurrah!!!

Glory to God indeed.  It will serve the needs of the youngsters and others very well to have a real chapel on the camp grounds.

There is another story here that surely deserves, although anonymously.....

And that is the kind efforts of one Russian-Canadian family in particular to preserve and maintain the memory of the Imperial Family, Russian culture and Russian heritage.  The family has been a beacon of cultural and religious endeavour, and they have built or caused to be built two beautiful Russian churches in Ottawa, and now one beautiful Chapel to the New Martyr St. Alexis outside of Toronto.

May we all remember their many kind acts of misericordiousness and their tradition to the faith of the Russian land.

If anyone deserves to have a chapel dedicated to, it's definitely Alexei, no doubt about it. Thank you so much, blessed Lord for this. I would love to send a donation to help out in any way I can.

P.S.-I'll bet Lenin is choking in his grave about this! (I couldn't help it, but I had to get that off my chest).

I wish they would build a chapel or church dedicated to Alexei in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (that's where I live, no for the summer though)

Is there anyways of making donations to the newly built church Gresgniya is talking about?

If you click on the link that Greshniya provided and then click "Fundraising" there is info on how to donate to the chapel. I plan on doing it myself!  :)

I sent something away today myself.  May God be glorified in this little chapel dedicated to His little saint Tsarevich-Martyr Alexei.  They will also be using the space for conferences....

Here is a link to an account of the consecration of St. Alexei's Chapel on July 17th.  I apologize in advance for any trouble with the presentation and think it may help to type in this link if it won't work as is.

Thank you for the kind words of support and donations for the construction of the St. Alexis Chapel. We are still in the process of completing the exterior of the chapel, but unfortunately find ourselves $33,000 in debt. Any donations would be kindly appreciated and recognized.

Also, Amercian residents who would like to make a US tax deductible donation to the St. Alexis Chapel in Ruskoka, Canada, should send cheques earmarked "Ruskoka" to:
ORTHODOX BENEVOLENT FUND
P.O. Box 203
Fly Creek, NY 13337-0203, U.S.A.US donors can make tax deductible donations towards the chapel fund through:
