Crownprince means nothing else that sy is is next in succession to the throne. So it's the same as "heir to the throne".
(Just like in German & Hungarian... In The Austro-Hungarian Monarchy Rudolf was also "Kronprinz"/"Koronaherceg" and "Thronfolger" ("folger" is sy who follows sg or sy)/Tronorokos (orokos means hier).
I haven't heard about any specific title.

Not that many monarchies have a specific and fixed title for heir to the throne; in fact, I can only think of Príncipe de Asturias in Spain and Prince of Wales in Britain. Oh, and Dauphin in France of course, and Prince of Piedmont for the Italian Savoys. I don't know if "Tsarevich" can be considered a separate title. The Prince of Tirnovo is I believe always the crown prince in Bulgaria too. The rest seem to be Thronfolger, Kromprinz, Erbprinz, Prince Héritier and so on. Austria I think had no title according to the original Almanach de Gotha of 1902 I bought in Geneva last year :D

I don't know where to post this so here it is:

From left are, Grand Duke Otto, Grand Duchess Etelka, 15, Grand Duke Robert, 14, Grand Duke Felix, 13, Grand Duke Carl-Louis, 11, Grand Duke Rudolph, 10, Grand Duchess Sarolta, 8 and Grand Duchess Elizabeth. Hi there,

I would like to see some pictures of the men and ladies of Empress Elisabeth´s court in Hungary, especially of Count Nikolaus "Niki" Esterházy and Elemer Batthyány (the latter wasn´t a real member of her court, but he participated often in the parforce hunts).

Goodmorning to all of you. I recently joined this forum, after lurking for a while, as I am amazed at the knowledge some of you have.
I live in the US, was born in Boedapest, grew up in the Netherlands and France, but spent most of my adult life in the US.
I was born in 1956 and during the uprising was taken to the Netherlands as a small baby by an elderly woman and was adopted by my parents. In 1848, my Hungarian Family fled to Germany and France, but returned to Hungary after their farm and estate was given back to them. On my 50th. birthday I received, through my mother's estate an envelop which contained several documents and a ring. Thankfully most of the documents are in German, French and a few in, what my assumption is, Hungarian. As soon as I am able to take a clear picture of the ring, I will post it.
Now, for my question;
Are there any biographies or other type of information available on Gu. Andrassy, Elemer Batthany and Nicolas Esterhazy. I know that these 3 gentlemen were closely associated with Empress Elisabeth in some 'form'. In the documents I received, are references made to a person in the Hungarian family who was to be considered Empress Elisabeth's 'good friend' (whatever that means). I know, by reading through most of the biographies written about E. Elisabeth, that references are being made to a relationship with these 3 men, but other than the 'biography' written by Maureen Fleming, nobody is saying really anything.
Any help in finding information about about the life of these 3 would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

I think this will help you search for Nicolas Esterhazy if you will set up an account and search through these Books and more for the names!
