Has anyone read this?  There is a copy in my library and it looks interesting.

I enjoyed it. Other than Catherine II, the empresses do not get much attention. This book covers them nicely.
Life may not be the party we expected, but while we are here, might as well dance..

Do you want the truth, or my side of the story ?- Hank Ketchum.

Any book by Evgeniy Anisimov is a well-written research! A long ago I attended his lectures on the Russian history, that was really interesting and captivating, he is a good teller and has a competent knowledge on many questions.

Thank you very much, Svetabel.  I will look up his other books.

I studied Russian history a long time ago as well.  Unfortunately my lecturer was not really inspiring.
Not many lecturers are so you were lucky.

Best,
Lisa

I did read this book, I must say I love the first story. My inner fairy tale sence were tingling but I felt the story climax down through the book. Did anyone else get this feeling? For example the last story it seemed alittle rushed reaching the final chaptures.
