Imperial People All,

If you all had not been so preoccupied with theaters and such, you would have noticed the tourists coming and going through our lovily palace.  You see, it just so happens that yours truely has taken over the dusty and forgotten bookshop.  Don't worry now, it is set up in the library, where absolutely NO ice cream, Dorito's, or soda pop of ANY KIND is allowed in.  I have remembered to use my inside voice and clap with only two fingers.

Not only that, but I have employed some dear, dear monkeys - exuse me, monks - to make copies of the books no one ever duplicated.  They came highly recomended, even coming with these nifty little typewriters. ;D

Like I always say: raise some cha-ching and get some bling! 8)

Toodles, dears,
Shvibzik :)

P.S.  Someone do keep an eye on Auntie Anna.  She's been attempting to escape on a nearby wheelchair and wheel downstairs so she can make sure T.D. isn't getting into anything he shouldn't.  You know, the offical papers and such. ;)  We just CANNOT risk him entering his office. :P

Dear Darling Little Shvibzik,

Thank you so very much for looking after the imperial bookstore, but of course I have been quite busy nursing our dear GD Anna, so you will understand that I could not do two things at once. (Multitasking just not being my forte, darling.  :-[ ) Of course, once Anna found herself a wheelchair it was much more difficult to keep track of her. Darling Shvibzik, do you know how many pairs of Adidas I have worn through, racing down one corridor after another in hot pursuit of the eminently mobile Anna? I wonder that she will ever resort to using her feet again.

As for T.D. getting into things that he shouldn't, you must clue me in, as I haven't the foggiest what you are talking about, dear darling Shvibzik.

Oops, gotta go, just saw GD Anna whirl past the nurses' station.

Dearest  Courtiers of the Realms:

It was great to see our dear GD Anna return to the palace.  She has a little wagon that some goats pull her around in all day long in the park.  Such a sight.

When she is in the palace she is here there and everywhere.  GD Janet wheels her into the elevator and up she goes.  Five minutes later she's in the lift again and down she goes to the basement to visit with the cossacks in the guards'  lounge.  She's her old self again.

But she did remark that something was causing a slight bump in her tummy.  Oh my Gott, I hope that nurse and flight attendant GD Janet did not leave a croquette  mallet in her like last time.  The surgeons did find a silver teapot in one of Janet's patients but the croquette mallet is a bit too much.

Tsar Doug........sending flowers to GD Anna with some little tiny glass beads of dew glued on them.

Dear Courtiers,

I suppose GD Anna has left the building........., luckily the footman opened the doors to the terrace on time. Look there she goes bumping in that wheelchair over the lawn. Dreadful woman ::)
I don't know what's come over her, she's acting real weird since she's taken the red M&M's GD Janet prescribed her. I don't know what else nurse Janet has done to her but she's sort of magnetic, tho she attracks lots of cossacks this way.

The palace is a madhouse at the moment, GD Janet is running around in her red cross uniform ( note: skirt too short) waving with scissors, willing to operate on everyone. It look likes she wants to hide all the palace silver.
GD Melissa is sweating in the palace kitchen cooking  huge kettles of rice-pudding, since the GD Anna said she loved it we get nothing else to eat.
Tsar D. lost his throne to the Tsarskoe Selo Pokerboys. By cheating with the cards he won back the golden footstool that goes with the throne. Tonight he's trying to win back the imperial seat.
I'm wondering why Ritka is walking with a big grin on her face. I've also noticed the girl speaks with a terrible broad accent.
Our dear little Shvibs turns out to be a well educated lady, taking care of our bookshop, dear oh dear how sweet of her. :)

What a place to live, as you can see a day within this family is never boring, although I can't understand why I'm still working for them.
I think it's a matter of loyalty to royalty ..........sigh

Zoya Hilariouskaya- secretary.

Ps. On behalf of the GD Anna I wish to thank the Tsar for his lovely bouquet of flowers.

Darling Ritka: Have a chocolate. We've bit off half of each one--pledge of good faith. Now repeat after me: Cup cup cup cup cup of of of of. And don't forget: Talk about the weather and people's health--that sort of thing--and don't be a heartless guttersnipe.

(Psst, Dearest Courtiers, Don't you just love these method actresses?!)

Dear Ms. Hilariouskaya: Thank you for keeping us all current.  And I wonder . . . can I order my rice pudding with taco sauce? Or is that "may I"? Oh dear. I never can quite remember.

Dear GD Melissa: Darling, I've heard your salty--er--dew is really spicing up the rice pudding. Have a care, or add some sugar for counterbalancing.

Dear Patient Anna: Keep taking your red M & Ms, there's a good girl. And my oh my, would you look at all the cossacks wearing sabres that you're attracting.

Dear Tsar Doug: Sir, I would never leave a croquet mallet in a patient; the Red Queen simply would not approve. Besides, flamingos are ever so much more amusing.

Nurse GD/GP Janet

I'm afraid your Imperial pronunciation would be damage by your play of Eliza Doolittle character. So, repeat with me again:

"How, now, brown cow".  ::)

Just had to share this evening's entertainment, especially for the sake of the young ones.  The Grand Duke Rudolf was so kind as to take us to a Mexican Family restaurant that opened up in the environs lately.  Now, you must know, we are several THOUSAND miles away from Mexico, hence there might be just a little something lacking.   And I suppose the local clientele really wouldn't know any better, unless they had been at any time in Mexico or at least in the Southwestern part of the United States.

Be that as it may, the restaurant was indeed operated by folks who spoke Spanish quite well, indeed in some cases ONLY Spanish (as with our very lovely waitress).  And it was quite possible that the family was from Mexico.

The meal was absolutely delicious, served quite quickly, and a fair price, and served by a waiter who looked EXACTLY like Orlando Bloom!  I mean EXACTLY!  I had all I could do to keep from looking back and him and staring.  Each time I looked, however, I was met by this wonderfully warm, somewhat shy smile, very much like the swordsman of the Pirate movie we so oft quoted before.

The only problem with the whole evening was the building in which the restaurant was housed.  Being mostly glass, it had this very nasty habit of bouncing sound back and forth as the Mariachi band went from table to table.  Indeed, we were tucked into a private corner, bound on three sides so that the sounds of the slightly off-tune trumpet reverberated so much that I ate as quickly as protocol would allow to get out of there.

So sad... it was such a nice meal, and such nice company!

In any case, I thought Nastenka and Ritka would very much appreciate the thought of being served by Orlando Bloom.

Best,
Tashenka

Dearest, dearest Auntie Janet,

Are you telling me that you have not the slightest idea why T.D.'s office door has been locked all these years? :o  Well, the GD/GP's and I will just have to explain chaos to you over tea today.  No offense, T.D..  But you just have to understand why there were Tsaritas and Empresses all of Russia's days. ;)

Anyway, Auntie Janet, Auntie Anna, I'm quite sure, will someday return to her feet, but will use rollerskates, of course.  You get place's much faster, and it doesn't tire your arms. :P

As for Margarita, why can't you be an Imperial Hillbilly? 8)

Toodles daaaaaaaalings,
