My father has always watched television documentaries religiously and when I was really young, about seven or so, I remember him watching one about Ryabov's discovery of the Romanov's "grave" and I suppose I was one strange child because I remember stopping playing with my barbies and sitting down on the floor and watching it. That summer when I went to summer camp there were two art teachers who would always tell the kids stories about the Romanovs during lunch which fasinated me. Later that year the cartoon came out and instantly became my favorite movie (Hey I was seven, I didn't know how inaccurate it was!) Then my intrest kind of fizzled until my sophomore year of high school when I learned about the Russian Revolution in my Modern World History class. Ever since then I've been reading everything about them and Russian history in general, I'm actually now planning on majoring in Russian History in college.
