And one of the photos from the Moscow State Archive. I wished I had it bigger...

Sitting from l.to r. : GDss Elizaveta Mavrikievna, Queen Olga of Greece, Princess Marianne of Schaumburg-Lippe (sister of Elizaveta)
Standing from l.to r. : GD Pavel Alexandrovitch, GD Konstanin, Prince Georg of Schaumburg-Lippe.

The picture was labelled simply as GD Konstantin and family. It's always interesting to identify : )

I wonder if Marva got along with Ella ?

Firstly - MaVra, not MaRva.

Secondly you are absolutely unpolite calling so GDss Elizaveta Mavrikievna. Do you know that nickname was derisive? Do you know that the Romanovs call Elizaveta so ONLY among them and in private correspondence and never right at her face?? None of them ever greeted her "Hey, Mavra, how are you".
It's not like "Alicky", "Niki", "Michen", "Minnie" and so on.

I just had a good laugh because in my language maRva means cattle...

Still...not answered the question.

We discussed the question about 2 Elizavetas somewhere in the Forum.

Also you seems an expert in Elizaveta Fedorovna.

I only knew from Minny's letter to Nicky that Ella was furious that Mavra was already made plansfor her old division & clothes before she quit St. Petersburg for Moscow. But since Minny loved gossip, it might not be an unbias portrait of the real relationship between the two Elizabeths.

Any way it seems this picture had not been posted yet.

GD Vsevolod Ioannovitch and his 1st spouse, Lady Mary Ligon.

Seems the picture I had posted the 4 years ago was the only one of the pair I had ever seen.

The reason of my quoting it is a very interesting article about Prince Vsevolod in a recent Royalty Digest Quaterly. His life was certainly not roses and he wasn't able to cope with the exile ways of the former Grand Dukes and Princes. So sad that he wasted his life, and some people considered him silly and uninteresting person. Also  he had problems with drinking as well as his 1t wife Lady Mary, once a great society beauty and possible bride for Prince George of Kent...All in all a sad story.

Lady Mary looked very glamourous in the photo. When was it taken ?
