There is much argument here that this particular part of the board is harmful, because it might provide misinformation to students who come here seeking knowledge. I narrowed it to 18 because if you can fight a war I consider you an adult.

I believe there are members here that are not yet considered adults by society's standards. You contribute just like the rest of us.

Yes, the theories presented here are not always plausible but do they steer you in the wrong direction or make you think? Do you take what is written here as gospel or do you form your own opinion?

Do any of you check in here because you find it appealing. appalling, entertaining or stimulating?

Thanks for responding!!! I have children and they know their own mind and have no problem expressing their opinions.

And for this I am grateful...

I find this forum very interesting and informative and most of the members are friendly and helpful members of a wide community.

I sometime find that some people's attitudes upset and anger me and once this led me to deleteing my account in a moment of reckleckness but since I have rejoined the community here and I like it here very much!

I'm very interested in the subject but I don't check in this section very often. Sometimes it gets a little heated.  ::)

I wouldn't say I check this section often but I do like to come here and read everyone's different idea's. It's very entertaining and it also helps me to be open to new thoughts and theory's. It's just really interesting to see how others view these situations.

I think that these thing make you thinking  *what if* things.   if I'm not sure about something, for example was AA Anastasia or not, I would search information. After that I'd see what everybody else thing and cogitate if it could be true..

and after all I think that the questions of survivors are opinion-things. In generally people believes that nobody survived, and if somebody think that Anastasia survived it is his own opinion. it would be good if his opinion is based on facts.. you know after all nobody truly knows shat happened on that night when IF was killed. so everything could be possible.. or not. But I think that it is kind of stupid for students to come look for information in this part of board.. they should find it somewhere else.. but if some kid is really interested in these things I do not see why he shouldn't see these topics.

I myself check this out 'cause it is exiting to see what people thinks -did somebody survive- and by what facts their allegations are based on.  :)

You know, I'm a student.  And I take Russian History classes.  (Not to mention that I'm Russian.)  But I will say that a "question" of survivors sure as hell makes me think a lot more, and learn more truths, than what  any textbook can ever tell me.  And that is because no textbook, no matter how detailed, will have every bit of information, because a textbook can only be written by so many people.  Here?  Here there are hundreds, expressing opinions and speculating, it's true, but the magnitude, and indeed historical significance, of the documents, photographs, and essays exhibited by the members of this community - very few of which are questionable on their sources (though discussions can indeed become confusing, angry, and occasionally hilarious at times) - is purely amazing.

I really have to hand it to AP, if I were ever questioned at school about using an open forum for my research, I'd have to say that I would argue AP's historical accuracy, the Alien Intervention thread excluded, for all that it's worth.  Without these boards, though I've only been a member for a month or two, I'd never have survived the past years of addiction to Russian history and the significance of the last Imperial Family, in addition to the amazing triumphs and tragedies that surrounded them.

Thank you Alexander Palace!

The whole survivor board has taught me a lot, about DNA and all. I find it all very intriguing(sp?).

Inquiring_Mind: the theories make me think, because I have my own opinion. but I don't think it will change just because someone come here, for exemple, and says 'oh Anastasia survived because she is my gradmother'... we can be teenagers, but we sure got our own point of view.
the nice thing about discussion forums is sharing the ideas, but not only because I'm interested in the 'surviving' thing I agree with everything that people say here. I don't know how to explain to you... anyway I'm sure that anyone here under 18 won't be stimulated by anything we read (:

I've been here for about three years, and I'm now 15. I enjoy reading this board because it makes me think and the discussions raise up questions and ideas I never thought about before. It's stimulating, entertaining, even though sometimes the people can be tiresome cough*AA supporters*cough. Yes, I USED to think that everything said here was like gospel, but only because back then I didn't know as much and didn't have much of an opinion about the issues. So, I can see how some might think it to be harmful to students. But, it's also good for students because it can help them get all the sides of the issue and come to their OWN conclusions. A debate is always good exercise for the mind.  ;) I don't post much now because I'm afraid to get my head bitten off, but it's fun to read anyhow.

Everytime I see "..under the age of 18",  it bothers me because  anyone who is under the age of eighteen is revealing the fact that they are.  Why should this bother me?  Because there are all kinds of idiots out in the world who are lurking and ready to pounce on unsuspecting youth.

So,  let me remind you,  B E W A R E.   And, remember,  please, most of the people are nice people but there are some who are not and will take complete advantage of you if you let them.

Yes,  I know,  I sound like a worrywart, but terrible things don't just happen to someone else,  you, too, can become a victim.

I do like the subject created by Inquiring Mind:

You aren't a "worrywart" Bear, and remember, not everyone who says they are under 18,actually is under 18. :-\. I don't mean here necessarily but any where on the internet.
