This palace in not in Montenegro it is in Italy, it is called SANT'ANNA DI VALDIERI.
In this place Regina Elena used to spend August every year.

Doesn't it look like her home in Montenegro?

The Topolica is really lovely!

Do you know what is this building used for nowadays?

Thanks so much for all what you are doing! :)

It could not be said that their marriage was a happy one! They stopped ''sahring bed'' just 5 years after their marriage! He was chasing other women! They did not divorce just becuse of her inheritance from her Mecklenburg-Strelitz family! The same was with her sister Marie whose first husband Count Jametel married her just because of her money! Her sister secondly married equally Prince zur Lippe-Biesterfeld!

I did not know the Meklenburg were so rich. Anyway I was never able to understand how Princess of her importance could marry Prince Danilo. I don't think he had much to offer.

Mecklenburg-Strelitz family were sponsors of Teck family and Queen May also-Grand Duchess Augusta von Mecklenburg-Strelitz was her aunt! They even payed much of her wedding-I read this in Queen May's biography!Danilo and Yutta married under the influence of Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, born von Mecklenburg-Schwerin and his sister Grand Duchess Militza Nicholaievna of Russia!Mecklenburgs alowed their daughter to marry Danilo because of Montenegro political and marital connections(thanks to their Princesses) and they were also proud of their ancestry-Mecklenburgs are of Slavic ancestry and Montenegro was an Orthodox and Slavic country,so...
