Not a Palace,but a Palacial Residence,the Canadian Embassy at the Willemspark,The hague
http://home-2.worldonline.nl/~aarde01/canad.jpg

http://home-2.worldonline.nl/~aarde01/dha224.jpg

and again, not a Palace but a hotel,Des Indes,The Hague, originally build by the Counts of Wassenaer opposite Palace Lange Voorhout,it had/has many Illustrious Visitors,ao,Tsar Nicholas II,and "Willy"his german counterpart.

The ballet dancer Anna Pavlova died here, the room is(still)dedicated to her.Anna was on tour in Europe as the train she travelled with from Paris to the Hague got a terrible accident. She became an instant heroin offering assistance to her fellow travelers.Tragically Anna developed double pneumonia due to her efforts and died at the Des Indes.

The Gothic Hall, build as an extension to Noordeinde Palace by King Willem II,unfortunately, this is all that remained and the Hall is now in use for official functions by the Council of State,

The Royal Pavillon, build by King Willem I for his spouse Queen Wilhelmine in the dunes of Scheveningen,

And as the State Visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin is eminent,nov.1st&2nd,and he's going to visit this little treasure,
I post this little "Imperial dwelling",called the Tsar Peter House(1632),Zaandam(close to Amsterdam).

Tsar Peter the Great lived here during his stay in The Netherlands,a wooden house.Since 1895 it is covered by a stone structure to protect it from the weather etc etc, this structure was build by order of Tsar Nicholas II.

On display are a wealth of memorabilia,ao, the deathmask of Tsar Peter, and a  buste of Queen Anna Pavlovna.

An anecdote:an overzealous civil servant of Zaandam wrote Tsar Nicholas in 1895,demanding he was to pay the real estate taxes that were due since long,ad 5 CENTS!To be payed within 3 days.It is not known if the Tsar actually paid,so I hope "Tsar"Putin has his credit-card ready, just in case....

Once the residence of the first Nassau's in the Netherlands, today Breda Castle houses the Royal Military Academy.I was born not far from the castle and I remember how I was in awe as a child as the Royal Military Band rehearsed,in full ceremonial dress at the cour.

Some pictures of palace Huis ten Bosch around 1860, the time that it was the residence of queen Sophie

And 2 interior pics of palace Huis ten Bosch at he end of the niniteenh century, but the rooms were not changed since the days of queen Sophie

On the right wall a portrait of queen Anna Paulowna. I think the buste is of queen Sophie herself.

I see on the wall the Winterhalter portrait of queen Sophie, but the portrait on the left and right of the Winerhalter portraits I don`t know. Somebody does?

The Palace that was a familiar sight for decades to most Dutch,Soestdijk Palace, from 1937
untill 2004 the Residence of the late Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard.

Untill 1934 the Palace was the summer residence of Queen Mother Emma, before her it was the summer residence of Queen Anna Paulowna,néé GrandDuchess of Russia.

Soestdijk Palace with pictures of two rooms. I think the palace is going to be a museum now but I am not for sure.

At the right a portrait of queen Emma (she lived in Soestdijk as the queen mother) and in the middle a buste of her husband William lll

Interior of palace Lange Voorhout: one of the rooms. he portrait at the right is of William lll and his brother prince Alexander, both as boys. This portrait is now at Noordeinde palace in the library.

The staircase: the painting on the right is from an ancestor of queen Emma (furst....of Waldeck Pyrmont)
The painting on the left is in my opinion a portrait of Empress Maria Feodorowna of Russie (wife of Tsar Paul), mother of Queen Anna Paulowna. I believe this portrait is now at Noordeinde palace.
