No, the pair lives in Switzerland, in Geneva. Only few Hapsburgs live in Austria and most of them are from the tuscany branch of the family (e.g. the descendants of Marie Valérie, the daughter of Emperor Franz Joseph). The descendants of Emperor Karl I. of Austria nearly all lives abroad (only Karl, eldest son of Otto von Habsburg, lives in Salzburg).

Geneva..pah! Boring place... (with no disprespect to the Swiss). I wonder why so many royals go there  when they're exiled? It's certainly expensive enough to make pauper royals even more pauperer :P

I most certainly am. 5 months there have been enough to make me decide not to visit ever again... but perhaps it was OK as a holiday resort F :P It is a nice city but some other qualities *the people ahem* were not up to my standards...

She is a very stately looking woman . . . does she officially style herself Archduchess of Austria?

hmm... I don´t know. But with the rather old fashioned Carl Ludwig (4th son of Emperor Karl I.) as father-in-law, she might do that...

Well, does Princess Astrid of Belgium? If she does I see no reason why Marie-Astrid might not . . .

Doesn´t Astrid of Belgium still style her as a princess of Belgium? And also her husband, Lorenz and their five children are styled Prince/Princess of Belgium. The head of the hapsburg family, 92 year old Otto, styles himself as "Otto von Habsburg". Since 1919, all noble and royal titles are forbidden in Austria. Someone who had been e.g. a Princess Marie zu Windisch-Graetz was than Marie Windisch-Graetz and the former Archdukes of Austria where and are called Mr. Habsburg-Lothringen.

Marie Astrid is officially styled as HI & RH Archduchess Marie Astrid of Austria.

Astrid is styled in Belgium as HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium, due to her dynastic status ... one of the primary reasons for the change in the succession law was that Astrid was married and neither brother was.  At the time, it was suggested that Philippe had no interest in women and Laurent had interest in the wrong kind of women -which is not surprising for his family - read the new book, A Throne in Belgium.
Although Astrid's children are Austrian archducals - in Belgium, they are styled by the Belgian titles - which have more authority as Belgium is a reigning monarchy, and titles do not exist in Austria.

Hi everyone!  :)

Here's a thread to discuss the children of Princess Astrid Josephine-Charlotte Fabrizia Elisabeth Paola Marie, daughter of Albert II, and her husband Lorenz Otto Carl Amadeus Thadeus Maria Pius Andreas Marcus d'Aviano, Archduke of Austria.

They are:
1. Prince Amedeo Marie Joseph Carl Pierre Philippe Paola Marcus d'Aviano of Belgium, Prince Imperial and Archduke of Austria-Este, Prince Royal of Hungary and Bohemia (b. 1986). He is godfather to his cousin Princess Elisabeth.

2. Princess Maria Laura Zita Beatrix Gerhard of Belgium, Princess Imperial and Archduchess of Austria-Este, Princess Royal of Hungary and Bohemia. (b. 1988).

3. Prince Joachim Carl Maria Nikolaus Isabelle Marcus d'Aviano of Belgium, Prince Imperial and Archduke of Austria-Este, Prince Royal of Hungary and Bohemia. (b. 1991).

4. Princess Luisa Maria Anna Martine Pilar of Belgium, Princess Imperial and Archduchess of Austria-Este, Princess Royal of Hungary and Bohemia. (b. 1995).

5. Princess Laetitia Maria Nora Anna Joachim Zita of Belgium, Princess Imperial and Archduchess of Austria-Este, Princess Royal of Hungary and Bohemia. (b. 2003).

Please post any pics and info about them! Thanks!   :D
