Well, many people become 'fans' of others just on the basis of looks alone. And of course, his 'Princeness' adds glam. Just like, say, Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, another handsome Prince, has legions of fans (though most of them are male  ::)).

;D It's true, Carl Philip is a genuine 'gay icon' in Sweden and has professed that he finds the attention flattering!!  ;D ;D

Still, I have dragged us WAY off topic, so I apologise.

Why shouldn't he be flattered? I know I would if I had a fan following, regardless of their sexual orientation.

What exactly do you mean by 'they either have children very soon or . . .'? Forgive my ignorance.

OK, here are some things we can talk about:

Why did Astrid and Lorenz give their sons girls names (Amedeo Marie, that one I can still understand, but Joachim Isabella?), and their daughters boys names (Maria Laura: Gerhard :-/ - Laetitia Maria: Joachim)? I suppose the only explainable reason is the godparents' names.

And their looks:
I think Amedeo and Laetitia Maria look somewhat the same, I don't know about Luisa Maria, and Joachim and Maria Laura look similar to their mother.

And does anyone have a picture of a younger Lorenz, so that we can compare to his kids?

And as for the pictures of Amedeo, I have some (in magazines, I don't collect his photos!) that I will scan today or tomorrow. (Maybe also some pics of the whole family)

That´s funny in a way, I think! ;D

Yes, I find it funny too!  ;D

On topic, I think one of King Albert's names is 'Marie' too, and I've long wondered about it?  ??? Hmm. BTW, I had a lovely roast beef for my dinner followed by apple crumble and custard. Yum.  ;D

Marie is not an unusual (baptism) name in the Roman Catholic world. In french you hear a lot of Jean- Marie's fe.
In fact, one of my baptism names is Marie as well.Living in a RC "stronghold" like you do,I thought you knew.

Yes, I thought this too - plenty of male Marias in, for example, the Saxon Royal Family. Not one of my names though, Catholic though I am.  ;D
