Where in Graz lived Maria Annunziata and Karl Ludwig? There two eldest sons borned there. Later the couple returned to Vienna. Why they went to live in Graz after their wedding?

Because the climate there in Graz was better for Annunziata (after Italy), who had a weak health.. As far as I know, it was the Archduchess Sophie, who didn't allow for Karl Ludwig to bring Annunziata straight to Wien. She took care of her daughter-in-law.

I see. Thanks synnadene . Archduchess Sophie was a caring mother in law to Annunziata.

Hello Paola,

Maria Annunziata and Carl Ludwig lived in a rented palais called Khuenburg. It is located in Sackgasse 18. Today the city museum of Graz is accmmodated in this building.

Maybe you want to have a look at its website: http://www.stadtmuseumgraz.at

Here is a picture of the impressive entrance of the former Palais Khuenberg:

Best wishes, Marie

Does anybody know where did she live

a) while married to Karl-Ludwig ? Did the couple own any palace in Vienna ? Does it still exhist ?
b) after the fall of the Empire ?

???

While Archduke Carl Ludwig was married to Maria Annunziata of Naples he bought the nice palais in Vienna (Wieden, Favoritenstraße) Remi mentioned. I read that Maria Theresia lived there as a widow and that she defended the palais during WWI.
The palais as well as Villa Wartholz still exists.

There's a book about Maria Theresia by Norbert Nemec. I can hardly recommend it, but it's better than nothing.
hi I have try to look for the book but nothing comes out ...by the writers nameNorbert Nemec

No wonder. I've seen this book only once on ebay and bought it. It's really boring and contains nothing new although Nemec talked to some of Marie Therese's descendents.

Hello MarieCharlotte,

thanks so much for the link. It looks like it was quite an elegant residence.

Does anyone have pictures of Karl Ludwig's family, especially his 3rd wife, Maria Theresa of Portugal?
All I know are those:
