Yes...Their family was under the radar, and not mentioned much.  :(

Those posted by Rani are from there. If she found those at the ONB, with a "further investigation" i bet you will find more. Good luck in that!

Indeed. Auguste looked good in the Hungarian costume.  ;)

The postcard is probably "incredible" but Augusta looks overdressed in that Hungarian costume. I don't mean the outfit is bad but seemed the Archduchess had no taste, as the whole ansemble of dress and jewels looks awful.

Yes. It does look over the top, but she looked happy in it. I would hardly describe Auguste or her mother Gisela in the same vein as Sisi in terms of elegance.

Auguste and her son Mátyás Joseph (1904-1905), it´s so sad, he died with just 1 year.

Actually his name was Joseph Franz ...
Ich aber breite trauernd aus
die weiten weissen Schwingen,
Und kehr' ins Feenreich nach Haus -
Nichts soll mich wieder bringen.

I knew there was something wrong about the name in the postcard. Thanks for the correction

Another son of Auguste, Lazlo, died on January23, 1946 in Budapest. Does anyone know under circumstances? Was he killed by communists?
Thanks

I started a new thread on Auguste since there seemed to be some interest on her in her mother's thread. There were some questions about her children (which I didn't find the answers to) and when I searched I saw only her eldest son married and had descendants.

Archduke Joseph Francis of Austria (28 March 1895 – 25 September 1957) m.4 Oct 1924 Anna Pss of Saxony
Gisela Auguste Anna Maria (5 July 1897 – 30 March 1901)
Sophie Klementine Elisabeth Klothilde Maria (11 March 1899 – 19 April 1978)
Ladislaus Luitpold (3 January 1901 – 29 August 1946)
Matthias Joseph Albrecht Anton Ignatius (26 June 1904 – 7 October 1905)
Magdalena Maria Raineria (6 September 1909– 11 May 2000)

Allan Raymond's site says Archduke Ladislaus died in a mental institution in Budapest.

Auguste and her family were actually shown quite frequently in German and Austrian magazines. I've found more on her than her sister Elisabeth for example.
