The brooch was NOT sold at the auction of Princess Lilianes effects...indeed its fate and that various other royal gems is much discussed and speculated on but unknown.

I purchased this book on the net last year and I do not regret it. This book was a very pleasant surprise with tons of pictures more beautiful than another. It is also and above all a wealth of information and anecdotes on the history of the jewels of the royal family of Belgium through its owners, from Leopold I to Albert II and his descendants. For me, who already has many books and albums on the Belgian royal family, Christophe Vachaudez' s book was a very good additional information.

None of the jewels were auctioned by Liliane...I have a copy of the catalogue.The Cartier diamond tiara given bought by Elisabeth and given by her to Liliane circa 1960 was sold by Liliane privately and now forms part of their archives collection.

The tiara was NOT Liliane to sell by right. Both Boudain and Fabiola was distressed by the secret sale. The family was not notified by about the sale.
