Why doesn't Bea change her hair, every now and then, now it looks 'geplamuurd',  :-/.

Whaha ;D that's a nice way of putting it!
But if she did, what would be her trademark?...
And I don't think a very modern haircut would suite her (she is after a 60+ -er ;))

Well I do remember when she was on a trip, somewhere, an the're was a strong wind, and you could see a different hair style. I remember too, that she kissed some man when she was walking on the streets... Very funny,  ;D.

HM hairdo is a much discussed item, but to put it simple,so all understand,it's been HM's "landmark" ever since 1966 as it was designed by Alexandre,Paris. It's perfect for any official occasion and that is why it is never to change.Except ofcourse when she goes sailing, horseriding or on holidays, then it's far from what we see during functions.

Ofcourse, like anyone she could easily adapt her hair to a style that goes by the craze of the day,but then she has character and class, and stands way above, and neither HM nor the Monarchie is about going by the craze of the day.A change would have nothing to do with age, some might wish they reach her age and still have that class.

The kiss you refer to Robby, was during Koninginnedag  in 1988 as she unexpectedly visited Amsterdam in the afternoon, and a guy kissed her, seemingly spontanious, but he tryed to make big bucks from the item, and it was never repeated.

Hi Lucien,

You know, I've seen Putin in many photos through the years, but he looks absolutely cool and comfortable in the pictures you have shared. I think he likes the Netherlands.

Thanks for all the sharing of the photos. They are great.

Tatiana

HM concluded her Silver Jubilee Tour today, she has visited the 12 provinces and the Dutch Antilles and Aruba over the past months. The visits are deemed a huge success.During a special Jubilee luncheon hosted by the CdK(Commissary of HM,Head of the Province),HM stated she had thouroughly enjoyed all of her visits as it had broadened her view of the possibilities and achievements over the past 25 years.

Tonight HM will attend a special Jubilee performance by the Youth Theater Hofplein,Rotterdam.

Last week children presented HM,symbolicly, with a jubilee-tree(Amber tree,Liquidamber) at Noordeinde Palace.Today the Beatrix Jubilee forest will be planted near the town of Schijndel in the Province of Noord-Brabant.The center of the forest will be the amber tree, surrounded by 5 Koningslinden, representing HM grandchildren,16 oak tree's representing the Provinces and The Netherlands Antilles and Aruba, and 467 trees representing the municipalities of the Kingdom.

One of the children had a special wish for the tree on behalve of all the other kids,it's a rhime in dutch, and ofcourse the rhime goes right out of the window as soon as I try to translate but here's a translation anyway :-/

"It is my dream that this tree
planted in The Netherlands by me,
 still stands tall,
when Amalia receives her call (to the Throne)"

HM wish is:Respect the earth and life in all it's diversity.
