There was also something written about Emmanuel's birth here.

And you are right, Elisabeth and Gabriel look a lot like their father, and I guess Emmanuel will too.

The names might seem a bit "biblical",don't you think?

They do, but I like them :D

Philippe and Mathilde are right that they're not showing any pictures of the little boy yet, as he will be photographed for the rest of his life. Let them enjoy these first days together. :)

Oh, Emmanuel is one of the most beautiful names I know! A good choise! I have heard that Guillaume of Luxembourg is going to be godfather of little Emmanuel, is this right?

In the close-up photos, especially the second one, I think he looks a lot like his cousin Joachim (Pss Astrid's youngest son). Does anyone else see it?

Is Emmanuel a common/popular name in Belgium?

It seems rather old-fashioned to me...

It doesn't appear to be, but then you wouldn't expect royalty to give their children trendy names.

In 2003 the popular names for boys in Belgium were:
Thomas, Lucas, Noah, Nathan, Maxime, Hugo, Louis, Arthur, Robbe, Nicholas, Simon, Alexandre, Romain, Tom, Mohamed, Théo, Robin, Antoine, Milan, Wout, Senne, Luca, Victor, Jonas, Jelle.

For girls the most popular names in 2003 were: Emma, Laura, Marie, Julie, Sarah, Manon, Léa, Luna, Lisa, Charlotte, Camille, Louise, Amber, Clara, Lotte, Emilie, Elise, Chloé, Océane, Eva, Jana, Pauline, Britt, Lara, Femke.

No Elisabeth, Gabriel, or Emmanuel anywhere on that list. I think I like the royal names better than the ones that are trendy in Belgium however.

Same here. Especially Emmanuel is a beautiful name, I think.

Since I read somewhere that her father has been created Count on the eve of her wedding...was she Countess d'Udekem d'Acoz as she entered the marriage or just belgian noblewoman(don't know the exact word for it)?
