Just a question on DNA...
« on: August 25, 2005, 02:29:06 PM »
Hi everyone in here!
Just a question to you who believe in AA. I'm sorry if you have all discussed this to dying days, but hasn't DNA finally proved that she was all a fraud? Sorry again if I hereby reveal my ignorance in the subject.

It has. There is speculation that the DNA evidence was contaminated, however.

Ok, the "good" old story of doubting DNA-tests. I see.

Well, in my opinion, that is a desperate theory for those who won't let go of a dream... However I wished that SOMEONE survived that AWFUL massacre.  :-[

There is much reason to believe that Anna Anderson could not have possibly been Franziska Schanzkowska. I cannot simply disreguard everything because a DNA test done in 3 labs says so.

why still do people believe that anna anderson is anastasia, despite the DNA test? is it because people just want to make the story more exciting?

i don't believe aa is anastasia. i personally believe that had anastasia lived she would have never attracted attention to herself, she would have hid very well and lived all her days in secclusion and a sort of terror and fear of being found.

however...

i cannot blindly believe something someone tells me. and i find it suspicious that her dna matched the dna of franziska. i cannot imagine how a woman like franziska, practically a peasant, learnt all the things that aa knew.while i can accept that aa is franziska, i would very much like an explanation as to how she got all the knowledge that she had, and i'm not talking just about the memories, but about the manners, foreign languages, etc...

i can't just sit there and say 'yeah the dna says she's not anastasia, but franziska, that is enough for me'. i need more. what we know now is not a satisfying enough answer for me. i'm not sure anyone will ever know more, but that's life and history... and one of the reasons i love history i suppose ::)

The AA story is a big mistery to me. I am not 100% sure that she wasn't Anastasia. In life, you can never know for sure. Life is full of surprises. People often say that they wish she was Anastasia. Personaly, I wish she wasn't. Her own family would have deny her identity! It would have been so sad! Don't you think. I personnaly wish that they all died together. If one of them had survived, they wouldn't have had a great life...
Sorry for my english! I speak french!
