Today, august 31st,it is 131 years to the day HM Queen Wilhelmina was born.

In the early morning hours of november 28th 1962 HM Queen Wilhelmina passed away
 - aged 82 - at Het Loo Palace.

Her funeral, like her late husbands in 1934,was in white as a sign of her deep Faith that death
was the resurrection to a new life.

In loving memory

Today, november 28th,is the 50th anniversary of the death of Wilhelmina Helena Pauline Marie,Queen of The Netherlands,
Princess of Orange Nassau,Princess of Luxembourg,Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg Schwerin,Duchess of Limburg etc etc etc.
August 31st 1880 - November 28th 1962

From 1890 ( upon the death of her father King Willem III under the Regency of her mother,Queen Emma until 1898) to 1948
Queen.Known again as Princess Wilhelmina since her Abdication until her death, then known again as Queen Wilhelmina.
Her wish, she felt the "title" of Queen Mother was her mother Emma only, and, modest as she could be,she preferred the title Princess.

Her granddaughter Princess Margriet opened an exhibition on her grandmother on her life after 1948 at Het Loo Palace,
the favorite home of Queen Wilhelmina and where she retreated after 1948.
